CYRANO DE BERGERAC
Running at the Théâtre de Carouge from 31st October-1st December 2017 and on three nights, Friday 17th, Wednesday 22nd and Friday 24th November 2017, tablets will be issued with english subtitles in sync with the real time performance for non-french speakers. Suitable for ages 12 and over.
Cyrano de Bergerac is in love with his cousin Roxane but he feels she will reject him because of his big nose. He resorts to writing letters to her on behalf of one of his cadets, Christian, who is also in love with Roxane but just doesn’t know how to tell her. She falls for the letters, but believes that they were written by Christian.

IRISH DANCE WORKSHOPS
Take part in an Irish dance workshop on Saturday 18th November and Saturday 16th December 2017, with one of the stars of Riverdance Michael Maguire. Lessons for children from 4-14 years old, as well as adults. No previous experience? Not a problem as classes are for beginners to advanced level – all are welcome.

SALON DU DESIGN
Love 20th century design furniture, lighting and accessories? The 1st edition of the Salon du Design will take place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th November 2017 at the Sicli Pavilion and aims to become THE reference in french-speaking Switzerland for both collectors and vintage design enthusiasts. The fair offers the unique opportunity to visit 26 of the best showrooms and galleries in Switzerland and Europe, all under one roof.

SHANNON WRIGHT AT LE GRAVIÈRE
Playing at Le Gravière on Thursday 23rd November 2017, Shannon Wright has become a real influence for a generation of music lovers who admire her lyrics, the urgency of her singing as well as the intelligence of her compositions. Her new album, Division – a heady mix of rock, punk spirit and trance, was released in February 2017.
La Gravière is a non-profit organisation that has been running now for 5 years. It has become an important cultural site in Geneva and is based in a former Firmenich factory on the banks of the River Arve. A live club, which hosts live regional, international, recognised or emerging artists, but also DJs evenings at affordable prices.

LES AUTOMNALES
Fashion, decoration, sport, leisure or gastronomy – there’s something for everyone at Les Automnales. Taking place at Palexpo from Friday 10th-Sunday 19th November 2017 with over 100 exhibitors and various add on expos. This weekend’s exhibition Japan Cosplay is definitely one of the highlights. Expect to see traditional Japanese shows, concerts, a huge cosplay competition, demonstrations, participate in some interesting workshops and, of course, try out delicious Japanese food (click here to find out more). TOP TIP: Plan your visit as the exhibition can be overwhelming. Also note, entry is FREE after 7pm.

STOP TELLING WOMEN TO SMILE
Stop Telling Women to Smile is an art series by Tatyana Fazlalizadeh taking place at L’Usine from 13th-27th November 2017. Tatyana’s work addresses gender based street harassment by placing drawn portraits of women, composed with captions that speak directly to offenders, outside in public spaces. Tatyana Falalizadeh is an illustrator/painter based in Brooklyn, mostly known for her oil paintings. Having recently branched out into public art as a muralist, STWTS was born out of the idea that street art can be an impactful tool for tackling street harassment.

THE BOLSHOI BALLET AT BALEXERT

A free concert and fascinating TED-style talk at the Athénee with superstar interpreter of music for the deaf, Amber Galloway Gallego takes place on Monday 4th December 2017.
Amber, a pink-haired punk from Texas, has become a worldwide sensation. A music interpreter for the deaf, performing onstage with some pretty big names in the world of music explains what is sound to music – does music need sound to be enjoyed? Be it Madonna or the Beatles, music has an irresistible energy that is enjoyed by all and is oft attributed to sound. But there is a person who begs to differ, an amazing talent who knows how to translate audio’s captivating energy into non-sonic terms.
This is a 100% inclusive event with simultaneous interpretation in English, French and LSF (French Sign Language).
