ON SATURDAY, THE 10th OF NOVEMBER the galleries of the old town will be open to the public from 11h till 17h, unveiling their most beautiful and unique works in 14 thematic or monographic exhibitions featuring their areas of excellence.
Rare art pieces are revealed from domains that are as fascinating as they are varied: classical and near-eastern antiquities can be discovered alongside modern and contemporary art, decorative art, photography, prints, sculptures, Old Master paintings, 20th century furniture, as well as contemporary jewellery designs.
The open day is organised by a well-established cultural association based in Geneva’s Old Town, Art en Vieille-Ville (AVV), which brings together fifteen prestigious art and antiquities galleries as well as three renowned cultural institutions: the Barbier-Mueller Museum, the Art and History Museum, and the Baur Foundation.
Created in 2007, AVV aims to establish the charming Old Town of Geneva as an important destination for art, by building on the diversity and expertise of its members, and promoting a selection of high quality works.
