ON SATURDAY, 6 JUNE, Bains des Paquis will re-open to the public after a total closure during lockdown.
A maximum of 1,500 people will be allowed onto the premises – including the restaurant, beaches, sauna etc at any one time and the social distancing measures prescribed by government will be adhered to, a spokesman said.
For us this is one of Geneva’s most emblematic public spaces and we have spent many hours here – eating the best fondue in town and lovely fresh lunches at reasonable prices, having a ladies spa day in the sauna and hammam, and of course, dipping in the lake.
Their events – including the early morning summer concerts, which unfortunately will not take place this year, are legendary.
It is a unique place where locals and tourists mix in a relaxed atmosphere and where good food can be had at decent prices.

SAVE THE BAINS DES PAQUIS
As a result of the lockdown the BdP, which is heavily subsidised, has suffered massive financial losses.
In an attempt to ‘save’ this space, they have created a crowdfunding project on SIG IMPACT to collect funds to help pay salaries and other costs.
