THE BEST PLACES TO EAT ICE CREAM IN GENEVA
by Alexandra Belz
While the sweltering heat wave continues to stifle Geneva, we have the perfect excuse to consume gallons of ice cream! We share our very best addresses for enjoying this delicious summer treat in the city…

MANU GELATO
This trendy ice-cream store can be found in three areas of the city: Pâquis, Carouge and Eaux-Vives. Their bright green-striped awning is hard to miss, so is the long queue of people waiting for their yummy ice cream. And if you are too lazy to wait in line, you can order them on Smood!
Staking their claim for artisanal gelato, a generous selection of flavours await you, but not too many to overwhelm you. They have most of the standard flavours like chocolate, Oreo, coffee, salted caramel and pistachio. Their pistachio is particularly delicious, and my favorite!
Mascarpone and fig is another deliciously unusual flavour.
Follow them on Instagram to keep an eye out for new flavours! @manugelato.ch or on their website

LLAOLLAO
Frozen yoghurt may not be ‘ice-cream’ in the strictest sense, but LlaoLlao offers a gorgeous frozen yoghurt alternative to ice cream that sets the heart of the healthy eater a-flutter.
LLaoLlao allows you to customise your natural yoghurt treat with a variety of fun toppings and we particularly enjoy adding fruit to ours and the speculoos sauce.
The natural yogurt has no added sugar and skimmed (0.1% fat) milk.
You have the choice of adding as many toppings as you desire. These include freshly cut , seasonal fruit, cookies, chocolate, granola or nuts and you can be as healthy or sweet as you like.
Lastly, you can choose a sauce – ranging from chocolate to fruit jams or pistachio.
Look out for the Speculoos version of the natural yoghurt too. It’s yum!
