Before we moved to Geneva, we had no idea how good Swiss wines are – and we’ve definitely enjoyed discovering them! We think local wine is Geneva’s best-kept secret, and we were thrilled to team up with Terroir Wine Club in October to give our lucky winner a 3-month subscription to local wine! GENEVA WINE TASTING SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subscribe for 1 month, 3 months or 6 months and renew as you please. When you subscribe to Terroir Wine Club, you’ll receive a surprise box each month with three different bottles of wine from a local producer. Terroir Wine Club hand selects a different winemaker each month based on their personal taste as well as the quality of the wines and the different styles – making sure you taste a wide variety of excellent local wines. We’re sipping on a delicious organic Gamaret from Domaine de la Vigne Blanche in Cologny as we write, and we can’t wait to try the chardonnay and the rosé de Gamay that await!
GET TO KNOW YOUR GENEVA WINEMAKERS
Inside each box there’s a QR code that changes every month. When you scan the code, you’re able to see different information about the winery of the month. Learn about the people and the story behind every glass, as well as detailed information about the three different wines in the box (varieties, structure of the wine, aromas, food pairing, and more). It also contains the contact details (address, phone number, e-mail, social media and website) of the winery so you can reach out to them and go buy directly from the wineries (or even visit!) if you liked the wines.
ECO-FRIENDLY START-UP
We love how everything is local and eco-friendly: only wines from Geneva, recycled packaging produced in Vaud, no brochures inside the box but rather a QR code (more below) and only one grouped delivery per month. In addition to that, for each box delivered, Terroir Wine Club gives 1 franc to REBO, a Swiss-based company that funds the collection of plastic bottles from the oceans. So for each box opened by a Terroir Wine Club subscriber, 100 bottles are collected!
EXPAT IN GENEVA? TERROIR WINE CLUB WAS DESIGNED WITH YOU IN MIND
Terroir Wine Club has designed their website with Geneva’s expat community in mind, too – with both English and French versions, they hope to reach as many expats as possible for two reasons: first, because they think that (almost) everybody loves wine and second, this is a great way to get to know the place where you live!
