STAYCATION: GENEVE EN ÉTÉ – SUMMERTIME APP

There is no reason to leave Geneva this summer – with the launch of a mobile application – Geneve en été – which lists 100s of summer events – for adults and children – in French and English from now until the end of August.
The application, something between a cultural calendar and city discovery app was created by local company PFL! and sponsored by Ville de Geneve, Geneva Tourism, Taxiphone and Radio Vostok.
HOW TO USE THE GENEVE-EN-ÉTÉ APP
The application – which is also offered in English this year – is divided into 12 categories including clubbing, dance, child-friendly, indoor, outdoor, music and more with great images and short descriptions of each event – including a link to a website and Facebook page, where appropriate.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
What is particularly handy is the calendar, where you can check to see what’s on daily.
THE CONCEPT
Geneva punches above its weight when it comes to summer offerings and can even be compared to much bigger cities in this regard.
The aim of the application is to share the multitude of events offered during the summer by various partners, mostly subsidised by the city, in one place.
The app was downloaded more than 10,000 times last year.
