THE PERFECT WAY TO ENJOY OUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANTS POST-LOCKDOWN
EAT ME – AT HOME DINING MENU

Glorious weather, good company and great food – the perfect combination for a mid-week picnic in Geneva.
The perfect post-lockdown way to enjoy food from some of Geneva’s best restaurants while enjoying the beautiful summer weather. No need to worry about masks or getting too close to others. Just chill and enjoy!
This week Alana, my colleague on TTD GVA, and I enjoyed a glorious mid-week picnic in the Jardin Anglais with a delicious spread from Eat Me Geneva’s new At Home Dining menu.
Alana even added a bit of sparkle with a bottle of Moët – rosé. And why not?
We enjoyed this so much, we have decided to start a tradition of a weekly lunchtime picnic – weather permitted – featuring some of the great new take-out menus from around town.

THE PERFECT PICNIC SPOT
This week we headed to Jardin Anglais – on a Tuesday afternoon and though there were a few people, it was not too full and we found a glorious spot overlooking the lake – perfect for enjoying the sun, the view and for a spot of people-watching. We picked up our prepped picnic lunch at 12.15 and walked down to the Jardin – a 10-minute walk.

Eat Me is one of our favourite restaurants – read our interview with owner Serena. We LOVE their concept – essentially a collection of food souvenirs from travels around the world.
Before lockdown we would not really have thought of this as a picnic option, that their signature small-plates-for-sharing concept has been slightly adapted for the in-home experience. The Eat Me at Home menu is divided into small plates and big plates that are perfect for eating outdoors. The food is delicious and exotic and has all the ingredients for a gourmet picnic with friends.
EAT ME GENEVA – AT HOME DINING MENU

THE GOURMET PICNIC MENU
Our absolute favourite was the En Attendant Tartare – I am not usually a big meat tartare eater, but I simply couldn’t get enough of this – it is a beef tartare seasoned with smoked salt from Guérande served on a cream of goat cheese and horseradish and topped with pickled mustard seeds, roasted hazelnuts and an estragon coulis served with sliced toast and a green salad. The combination of flavours and crunchiness is just beautiful. (CHF28)
From the small plates at home dining menu – we enjoyed the Better than Butter burrata – with extra virgin olive oil, served with a crumble of black olives and rosemary, marinated cherry tomatoes and basil jelly – with some toasted bread. Delicious. (CHF18)
New on the Eat Me Geneva menu is the ‘Traveling Ceviche’ which is an absolute must if you’re a ceviche fan – it is a sea bream ceviche with a homemade ‘leche de tigre’ – infused with Mezcal and topped with pineapple, avocado cocoa nibs, fresh red chili peppers and chipotle corn flour chips. This dish is super fresh with a lovely kick! (CHF22)
From the big plate menu – we shared a vegetarian dish – the Purple Peru – a Peruvian causa – basically purple potatoes filled with queso fresco and served with a blend of quinoa, sweet potato, celery, pickled red onions, cancha corn nuts, roasted baby corn and sour cream with herbs. Very generous and yummy. (CHF20)

SWEET SPOT
For dessert we had a vanilla cheesecake served with a side of salted-butter caramel (CHF12) and a decadent pie of pecans caramelized in maple syrup served with a side of crème fraiche (CHF14). Both were unbeatable in terms of flavour and consistency. Not too sweet – perfect delicate balance. We LOVED this.

OUR VERDICT

The EAT ME at home dining menu – is perfect for a gourmet picnic lunch – ideal for sharing with friends. It comes beautifully packaged with disposable cutlery but bring your own plates. The dishes are clearly labelled and provide some tips for re-heating and eating. They also offer some of their most popular wines at take-away prices.
Although we were only 2, the picnic would have easily been enough for 3-4 people.
An absolute treat!
