HALLO – CIRCUS, PANTOMIME AND CONTEMPORARY DANCE
by Vivian Holding
Martin Zimmerman’s silent show Hallo has been touring worldwide for the past three years. He returns to his home town of Geneva to perform and direct for the first time ever a solo creation that sees the movement artist, fervent tinkerer and reckless wanabee attempt to fling the absurdities of his inner life outside and get a grip on his bizarre thought processes.
In the calamity riddled Hallo, Zimmerman keeps trying to work his way through new and increasingly surreal circumstances. He loses his grasp on reality, mistakes himself for his own mirror image, folds himself up and becomes another prop on the stage. The artist, trapped under his own spell and by his unbridled passion, nearly stumbles and is saved only by his off-the-wall humour.
Running from 25th April – 30th April at the Carouge Theatre (Salle Francois-Simon). Suitable for ages 12 and above. Duration: 1 hour. Tickets are priced at CHF40 for adults, students CHF15.
