Do you have plans for Jeûne Genevois? Staying in Geneva? We have some great ideas for making the most of the long weekend.
By the way, did you know Jeûne Genevois used to be a day of fasting and although not many people actually fast nowadays, the tradition of eating plum pies (tarte aux pruneaux) continues. The pies were made in advance and were the only meal eaten during the fasting period. The perfect excuse to eat pie!
THE BÂTIE FESTIVAL
30th of August till 16th of September 2018
For its 42nd edition, the Bâtie Festival covers a great line up of cinema, concerts, theatre, workshops, dance shows and exhibitions across several venues throughout Geneva.

GENEVA YOGA FESTIVAL
5th-9th September 2018
If you’re into yoga, don’t miss the 9th edition of the Geneva Yoga Festival!
On the menu: 4 days of yoga, 48 workshops, including 8 intensive workshops on Thursday (Jeune Genevois), and 5 evenings of music (concerts, kirtans, DJ and OM chanting).
You can also explore original practices such as Sufi dance and Chakra dance.
The teachers: As usual, this festival will welcome both local and international teachers, who will guide participants of all levels in accessible practices respecting the traditions.
The Temple of Pâquis, heart of the festival, will be a point for meeting, mingling, eating and drinking, thanks to the usual health food and health drink stands.
