LE PETIT 23
by Kelly Marcisz
With the arrival of colder weather, the hunt for belly-warming food is on – and the new menu at Le Petit 23 in Geneva doesn’t disappoint. Having recently had the opportunity to try their fresh and tasty new menu, we can definitely recommend this chic little restaurant as the perfect ‘go-to’ for a quick but healthy lunch this winter!
THE MENU
Le Petit 23’s new menu has three staples:
- Soup
- Poke bowls
- Pita wraps.
Every week, different variations and flavours are introduced to these three dishes, keeping things interesting!
My favorite dishes were the three soups on offer, including two vegan options: carrot with cumin and soy milk, and an Asian interpretation, with coriander and vermicelli noodles. The third option was a creamy and rich celery soup – the best one, in my opinion!
The restaurant also features a ‘soup creation corner’, which allows you to add assorted toppings to your soup, such as roasted chickpeas, colourful croutons and mixed seeds. New soup flavours are on offer daily, weekly AND monthly.
The other meals on their menu, poke bowls and pita wraps, are also delicious. We tried their Poke Bowl 23: fresh tuna served over rice, with avocado, carrot and edamame beans. Their tandoori chicken pita wrap was definitely a winner, and when paired with a small serving of soup, makes for a perfect winter lunch!
SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT
But before you get carried away with Le Petit 23’s delicious lunch choices, do remember to save room for dessert! The restaurant is rumoured to make the best tiramisu in town – try it and become a believer! It was lip-smacking good and well worth the calories. Their delicious and decadent chocolate chips cookies are also worth a try!
THE VIBE
This trendy eatery is decked out with wooden floors, a steel bar counter, black chrome hanging lamps and lots of pretty exposed bulbs. The private back room, The Garden, is the ideal haven to cozy up, and tuck into your delicious lunch with friends or work colleagues.
Le Petit 23 is directly next door to its namesake, Bistrot 23, which is the owner’s original restaurant. Bistrot 23 is a bar and restaurant serving delicious cocktails and up-market food, looking onto the scenic banks of the Rhone, and facing the historic Bâtiment des Forces Motrices. In the summer time, a fabulous Champagne bar, Bubbles, is set up, boasting a retro bathtub filled with bottles of bubbly for patrons to choose from, as well as a Gin and Tonic station. Dive in, and prepare to be amazed…
