Château de Prangins Swiss National Museum family museum exhibits and guided tours – in English!
Spend a day or an afternoon at the Château de Prangins and check out their wide range of guided tours and exhibits for the whole family, designed with English speakers in mind.
Take a tour of the quaint village (“Wakker Prize” tour), visit the permanent exhibition Chintz. How a Fabric Conquered the World with the museum’s director Helen Bieri Thomson in English, experience a guided digital detox in the largest historical kitchen garden in Switzerland, celebrate Swiss National Day on 1 August, and more.

Kids (and parents!) will love the temporary exhibition on… video games! You’ll be able to play Asteroids and Space Invaders on arcade machines, as well as video games developed in Switzerland.
You’ll also learn about the Swiss video game industry, the addiction of young people or scenes of violence in certain games.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the current COVID restrictions and the high attendance of the GAMES exhibition, the museum has temporarily introduced a ticketing system per time slot of max. 30 minutes for the visit of GAMES. You’ll only be able to access GAMES during the time slot indicated on your ticket, but you’ll have the entire day to visit the rest of the museum.
Throughout the duration of the exhibition, the Château de Prangins will offer themed evenings, gaming afternoons and other fun events. Keep an eye on the calendar here.
The Château de Prangins also has a new permanent exhibition designed around the idea of role-playing and geared to younger visitors. It aims to help them see museums in a different light challenging the common perception that museums are boring, dusty, serious places. There are two areas: one for 4 to 10-year-old children and one for children aged 11 and older.
This exhibition puts the visitor centre stage and immerses them in the experience of different eras – the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. At each stage the visitor will be surrounded by authentic pieces and there will be a variety of different items for children to interact with.
The exhibition is in four languages (French, English, German and Italian).
