FROM 2 TO 17 JULY 2021 the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival is back – and tickets are now on sale!
Steeped in the history of rock, this year’s more intimate programme (coronavirus oblige) features up-and-coming talents, current trends and tailor-made concerts from major artists, including Woodkid, Ibrahim Maalouf (already sold out!), Zucchero, Rag’n’Bone Man, Brandão Faber Hunger, Arlo Parks, Yseult, Altın Gün, Yussef Dayes Trio, and more.
The big performances take place at Scène du Lac (a stage built entirely on the lake, in a Festival first!) or Petit Théâtre, and tickets may be sold out for many – but don’t despair. There is a whole programme of free events, too.
FREE EVENTS AT THE MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL
The free part of this year’s festival will be concentrated in two main areas: Les Jardins and the Grand Hall by MJAF. Catch showcases, jam sessions, expositions, film projections, workshops, visit terrace restaurants, and more. You’ll need to reserve a ticket to enter these free events – for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes.
For the full programme of FREE events – click here. Take the train to Montreux and soak up the atmosphere as you enjoy the free open-air concerts in what must be one of the most stunning places on earth. The vibe is amazing. Take along children, dogs and enjoy some celebrity spotting.
If you can’t make it to Montreux, you can still enjoy some of the concerts from your own living room! In order to bring the Festival to a larger audience, several concerts on the Lake Stage will be streamed live on the Qello Concerts by Stingray platform this year. They will be accessible free of charge over the duration of the Festival.
