FROM SEPTEMBER 28th TO OCTOBER 6th, celebrate ceramics through numerous events: conferences, performances, demonstrations, documentaries and guided tours in Carouge.
For its 30th anniversary, the Parcours Céramique Carougeois (PCC) returns to the roots of ceramics. Today, ancient traditions continue to enhance the approach and work of contemporary ceramists, who are constantly evolving their approach to create ever more interesting works. Some twenty exhibitions give visitors an opportunity to discover how creators are currently re-appropriating the technical and aesthetic heritage of their predecessors.
From Carouge to Geneva, the 16th edition of the PCC invites you to travel through time and space. Galleries, crafts arcades and museums display works by talented artists from all over the world.
From its heart in Carouge, the biennial reintroduces the Café Céramique at the Halles de la Fonderie. The venue also hosts a major exhibition by the artist Manuel Canu (DK/ IT). And the basement has been turned into a projection room for presenting a series of films on traditional Chinese ceramics.
The biennial will reach a spectacular crescendo when a monumental ceramic structure, built with the help of volunteers, will be set alight on the Place de la Sardaigne. As night falls, the flickering flames will illuminate the centre of this old Sardinian town.
The PCC also features demonstrations, guided tours, lectures and workshops for children, offering many opportunities to delve into the universe of ceramics during nine days of festivities.
