FROM 24 JANUARY TILL 28 FEBRUARY visit the exhibition of contemporary South American art at Centre des Arts.
This exhibition aims to give greater visibility to the visual arts from different parts of the world. This year, South America will take centre stage. The goal is to establish a real presence of Latin America on the global art stage and more specifically in Switzerland, in Geneva, and namely at the International School of Geneva.
In Latin America, a real artistic vitality is born of the strong relationship that its people have with religion, politics and power, echoes of a recent past and turbulent history that continue to resonate to this day.
Guest artists will showcase the diversity, and sophistication of relationships with the world, the re-emergence of traditions and creation of links between space and time. Themes include attachment to territory, questions linked with identity and the strong presence of memory to present the current reflections of the contemporary artistic reality of South America. Selected artists will present this view through a wide variety of media: photography, painting, sculpture, installations and video.
