VEGGIE WEEK GENEVA
by Vivian Holding
If you’re vegetarian or vegan, the lack of choice in many traditional Swiss and French restaurants must lead to some very frustrating, not to mention bland and tasteless meals. Unless of course you’re happy eating cheese for the umpteenth time!
Veggie Week returns to Geneva for its second edition in 2018, starting on the 4th June until 17th June 2018, appealing to not only vegetarian and vegans, but also to meat-eaters by emphasising the versatility of the humble vegetable.
CHANGING TRENDS

Things are changing fast in the city as trends towards healthier eating and flexitarian diets mean people are increasingly choosing a non-meat option. Thankfully Geneva now also offers a host of healthy restaurants that have popped up all over town.
Veggie Week is a great way to emphasise that even the bigger establishments are taking this shift in trends seriously, as 12 of the city’s top 5-star restaurants are participating by offering 100% vegetarian menus (with some offering vegan too) for both lunch or dinner. An incredible opportunity to experience the talent and creativity of top chefs (many of them holding Michelin stars) – surely a sign of the commitment towards more meat-free options from them in the future.
WHAT’S ON THE MENU?
Each chef has been given carte blanche to create their own menu, whether it be to create something completely new or to re-invent classic meat dishes in a meat-less form. You’ll find a selection of menus with mixed flavours with influences from around the World, whether it be India, Italy or France.

WHO’S PARTICIPATING?
