WHITE RABBIT – ALL DAY BRUNCH WITH ROMANCE!
by Fariza Ahmadova
Geneva is in the process of shaking off its conservative image and it’s becoming hard to keep up with the trendy new restaurants, cafés and bars opening up around the city.
We LOVE discovering and exploring these new venues – and to share them with you on Thingstodoingeneva.
So, our latest find is The White Rabbit coffee bar, which offers all day brunch and which we discovered by chance in the city centre. What a find!

COVERED IN ROSES
The first thing you’ll notice, is the stunning and unusual walls, which are covered with bright red and pink roses, setting the décor apart from any other local café right away.
The mini, velvet sofas in rich blue shades set a very classy tone for the inside of the bar. You can choose to sit by the windows or next to the the rose walls.
This wall is any instagrammer’s dream and everyone around me is taking selfies in front of it, while someone asks the waiter for the hashtag.
The terrace has comforable couches and white tables, where guests can relax and even enjoy some shisha, something that is quite hard to find in an upmarket venue in Geneva.
MENU – DECISIONS, DECISIONS
I flip through the pretty pink menu offering many attractive salad options and simple, tasty-sounding meals such as avocado toast, Greek salad and eggs. I feel as if I’m brunching in New York or London with different brunch options such as a scrambled eggs and cream cheese sandwich. Let’s face it, until not too long ago, Geneva’s brunch menu didn’t go much further than croissants and pain au chocolat.
Other options include a smoked salmon burger or a classic club sandwich. As for beverages, there is a large a variety of coffees and teas and a long wine list. Their sommelier offers a choice of BIO and Nature wines. You can also opt for cow milk substitutes such as almond milk and soya milk.

MY CHOICE
I finally go for a salad with a boiled egg and avocado. The salad is delicious and the refreshing mint drink I chose complements the light meal perfectly on a hot summer’s day. For dessert, I choose a pink latte and pink pancakes. Both were fantastic in taste and looked great on my Insta page.
The friendly waiter offers to take a picture of me with the rose wall behind me and I don’t hesitate.
THE BOTTOM LINE
The White Rabbit offers a quick and healthy meal during a lunch break, in a chic setting and on a nice summer’s evening, the terrace is perfect for an apéro with friends. The prices are not bad compared to other bars/coffee shops, ranging between CHF7-CHF21 for meals and between CHF5-CHF98 for drinks, including alcoholic beverages. The target customers are mostly women from 18 years and up, but men are welcome too!

OUR VERDICT
The White Rabbit is a refreshing, new spot for those on the lookout for something original. It sets itself apart with the décor and menu choice. If you are looking for a cosy place for a girlie get-together, a romantic spot for a first date, or just want a nice lunch in a beautiful atmosphere, the White Rabbit is the perfect choice!
