YOGA FESTIVAL
by Chené Koscielny
If you’re into yoga – deepen your practice and broaden your horizons at the Geneva Yoga Festival, which takes place during the weekend of the Jeûne Genevois (8-10th September 2017) in Pâquis.
THE DANCE OF THE DRAGON
Whether you’d like to learn the dance of the dragon, enjoy a deeply relaxing yin stretch class or challenge yourself with an acroyoga class, you’re likely to find your inner bliss during this exciting weekend. Other workshops include tantra vinyasa, satium yoga, meditation dance and alchemy of breath.
ELECTRO SHAMANIC TRANCE DANCE
If you’re not sure about yoga, you could still share in the positive vibes by attending the evening music concerts, which include an electro shamanic trance dance and an international DJ specialising in electro chill-out music or a belly dancing session. Healthy food will be for sale from lunchtime until the evening.
NEW SPONSOR
The main mission of the festival is to share and educate the public about yoga and other alternative lifestyle approaches. The festival is in its 7th year and will be held in the Temple de Pâquis – which can accommodate up to 65 participants per workshop.
The activities have had to be somewhat scaled down this year as surrounding halls and venues used previously are no longer available and the organisers are researching a new, bigger venue for 2018. This means fewer tickets are available, so book your spaces now. This year’s festival is sponsored by ALIVE, a new yoga/pilates/personal training studio, as well as superfood store – watch this space – we hope to feature them shortly in our blog.
OUR TOP TIP
I can highly recommend Cecile Roubard.
Cecile has an Ashtanga yoga and dance background and will present the Dance of the dragon: a mix between Vinyasa, dance and the ancient practice of Qi Gong. This will be followed by a yin practice.
