Whether you’re still flush with love or your romance needs a few fresh sparks, Valentines Day is a good opportunity to reignite or fuel the flame. Single? Surprise someone you fancy with a special treat or invitation or send yourself a gift of love.
We have collected a few special ways to say I love you. We think they offer a slightly different take on some Valentines Day and Geneva clichés.
CHOCOLATE FLAVOURS TOUR – Local Flavours Tours – GET 20% OFF!
Nothing says I love you quite like chocolate – OK, maybe diamonds, but chocolates will go a long way. What can be more romantic than exploring Geneva’s chocolate and culture with your sweetheart in a deliciously sweet walking tour? We LOVE this idea!
The Local Flavours chocolate tour in Geneva allows you to connect with the essence of our city, not only by tasting award-winning chocolates and chocolate creations, but also getting a behind the scenes look at the city, discovering gems that even locals don’t know about.
You’ll visit some of the city’s best artisanal chocolateries – from traditional to modern. You’ll experience chocolate in all shapes and forms: from chocolate pralines, to truffles, ganaches, drinking chocolate and pastry.
You will also visit the old town, hear anecdotes and stories about Geneva that are not in any guidebooks, and experience the city’s most important tradition – breaking the chocolate “marmite” (cauldron).
Their promise: You will be completely chocolate-ed out by the end of the tour! Now, if that doesn’t say LOVE!
COST CHF95 per person.

FRESH FLOWERS AT PRICES YOU’LL LOVE – Bouvard Fleurs
If it’s roses you’re after – or any other flower for that matter – you will not find a better place than Bouvard Fleurs. They are wholesalers whose main business is catering for weddings and events, but as we discovered – they also sell to the public. For Valentines Day they have imported no less than 64,000 roses!
For VALENTINES DAY they have designed a special bouquet with an Imperial candle, which has a necklace and bracelet hidden inside, or a bath bomb with earrings. The perfect from me to me Valentines gift, we think!
(Cost from CHF80-150) Check out their site for more details.
They’ll take orders online (even in English) right up until the day before and still deliver on Valentine’s Day in Geneva.
Our writer Linda Gummery stumbled across Bouvard Fleurs due to a sat nav error, as you do.
“I found myself sitting outside a barn in a field near Perly-Certoux watching bunches of the most amazing flowers being loaded into florists’ vans. I plucked up all my courage and ventured inside to ask (in my very basic French) if they would sell to me. This was how I discovered one of Geneva’s best kept secrets.”
Bouvard Fleurs sells 15 000 roses every week not counting the exotic flowers, the lilies, the house plants and everything else you can think of and if they don’t have it they’ll order it for you.
They arrange flowers for over 60 weddings a year as well as hotels and offices, but also ofer weekly arrangements for your home (vase and all) starting at CHF35 including delivery if you live in Geneva.

LOVE IS… A COUPLES WORKOUT AND MASSAGE – Wellness Only, Geneva
What we love about this studio, apart from the location, is the personal attention and the interesting mix of fitness classes. Apart from pilates, yoga, boxing, kickboxing and fitness training, they also offer a body art and body ballet class.
We tried the body ballet class, making ballet accessible to all, and it was great fun! We still feel our legs and arms 3 days later!
Their VALENTINES DAY OFFER is ideal for healthy couples, who want to share a private workout for two (choose between fitness, pilates, yoga or body art) followed by a 45 minute massage each and a healthy cocktail at the end.
Dates available: 14th February and Sunday 17th February 2019
RSVP before the 12th of February.

The creator, Mariona Lanza who hails from Barcelona, uses semi-precious and precious stones in combination with silver and gold for the designs of her beautiful necklaces and bracelets. We love the Renegade Saints. They are a fun bunch and if you’re on a first date, you’ll definitely have a good laugh together – always a good start!
We fell for their VALENTINES DAY ‘pick-up line’ on Facebook:
“Um, hi. We were wondering whether you had plans for Valentine’s Day yet. If not *stares at floor and blushes*, um, would you like to be our Valentine and come to the improv? Yup, the Renegade Saints will be taking to the stage this Valentine’s Day and [comedic] sparks will fly! So come along and bring a friend, and remember that 11 out of 12 love gurus say that improv-induced laughter adds 30 minutes to your life and a fetching sparkle to your eye.”
