A MIDSUMMER’S NIGHT DREAM
Three exceptional performances of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream by the award winning Russian Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theatre group takes place at the Thêàtre de Carouge on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December 2017. All shows are in Russian with projected french subtitles, but tablets will be available in English for non-french or Russian speakers.
Everything is a game here — a theatrical game, a game of love – sometimes artless, and sometimes complex. Sometimes the game is brutal, even dangerous, and it’s safer to watch from the sidelines, without interfering. Sometimes the game is child’s play, and you join in – willingly or not. But all the games that this production plays with the audience are reckless. In the chaos, the line between dream and reality is blurred. The lovers mix each other up, and end up in a lively tangle of youthful jealousy, fear, and love.
WHEN: Friday 8th December (SOLD OUT), Saturday 9th December at 7pm, Sunday 10th December at 8pm.
WHERE: Thêàtre de Carouge, 39 rue Ancienne, 1227 Carouge.
COST: CHF40, Students CHF15, AVS/AI/Chômeur CHF30
