FROM NOVEMBER 2018 TILL JANUARY 2019, you can discover a range of natural beauty products in Archipel, a bright and open pop-up shop offering 5 different natural beauty brands, including Foret Bleue from Geneva. The products are 95% made from natural ingredients and are aimed at both sexes – to encourage a simpler way of life, sharing products and lighter travel.
The products are also available online:
BEST-SELLER: Natural deo
The best-selling product so far is a natural deodorant with a buttery texture, which is applied by hand, and is produced by German brand Fine. People are becoming increasingly concerned about what they put on their bodies, says Sarah Clozel owner of the store, which means they’re keen to find alternatives.
Other products include amazing face masks from Canadian brand Artifact which transport you to different countries through their smell such as the Bali papaya rice mask or the Moroccan tangerine clay mask.
LOCAL BRAND: Foret Bleue
Foret Bleue is a local brand created by Genevoise who makes her own masks, body oils, solid shampoos, lip balm and lip exfoliant by hand. She switched a career in finance for following her passion a year ago and is about to launch her natural bamboo anti-ageing face serum, made entirely from natural products! It feels smooth and not at all oily. We’re definitely trying this!
BATHROOM TESTING AREA
Another great feature of the shop is a pretty bathroom area with a big mirror, where you can touch, feel and smell the products to your heart’s content just like at home. We loved it.
Sarah worked for beauty brand Givaudan specialising in essential oils and travelling to far-flung places such as Madagascar before being inspired to search for natural beauty brands for her own shop – not only because of the products, but also because of the production and stories behind the brands.
HANDS-ON ADVICE
She believes these products are not readily accessible in inspiring places with hands-on advice and explanations in Switzerland yet, and she aims to open a permanent shop in Geneva in 2019. Her e-shop will soon be operational too.
Other brands include Nuori from Copenhagen and Bivouak – shaving products for men.
Prices range between CHF9 and CHF65.
