One of the major cultural events of the year, the Ballet Night Gala features stars from some of the greatest world renown ballet companies – the Bolshoi Theatre, Vienna State Opera Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders and the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
COMPETITION: We have five pairs of tickets to give away (see below for further details).
An exceptional programme for one night only, the most beautiful classical choreographies will be combined with masterpieces of contemporary ballet created by the most compelling choreographers of our time. Majestic standards of classical ballet such as, Giselle,Talisman, Diana and Acteon, The Springs Waters, Moszkovsky Waltzand Spartacus, with choreographies by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, Marius Petipa, August Bournonville and Vassili Vainonen. In addition jewels of contemporary ballet choreographed by worldwide famous choreographers will also be performed: Movements to Stravinsky(by Andras Lukacs), Glory(created for the Grand Théâtre de Genève in 2012 by Andonis Foniadakis), Replay (by Ted Brandsen), Sed lux permanet(by Ken Ossola), Approximate Sonata (by William Forsythe) and I will fall for you (by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui).
Organised by Geneva Dance Events, an association founded in 2015, whose mission is to develop and promote the art of ballet for contemporary audiences. Geneva Dance Events aim is to share with an international audience its passion for classical and contemporary ballet, performed by the best dancers of our time. The association is dedicated to inspiring and promoting young dancing talents locally as well as fostering the development of ballet worldwide.
