AS FROM THURSDAY 30TH AUGUST bao bun lovers can feast themselves at the new Taiwanese restaurant Bao Canteen located in Plainpalais.
This funky new concept restaurant is definitely Instagram worthy with its pretty-in-pink tabletops and clever signage that makes you laugh out loud. They encourage messy eating and serve up just the right food for it! #eatwithyourhands
Their menu is simple but creative. They offer single bao buns such as slow-cooked pork, braised beef as well as plenty of vegetarian options each with their own inventive topping. Each bao bun costs between CHF 7-9. There are two soups and a salad to accompany your bao but mostly importantly there are bubble waffles for dessert too!
What are bubble waffles you may ask? Well it is an egg waffle shaped into lots of little small balls (which look like bubbles!) These waffles are filled with ice cream and different toppings of your choice. You can make your own or chose one of their suggestions like the Grand Central which is filled with fior di latte ice cream, oreos, speculoos, cream and chocolate sauce!
