BAOTI – FOR BUN LOVERS
by Laura from Let’s Explore
A new restaurant has just been added to Geneva’s restaurant scene – a welcome addition! Bun lovers, check this out! This recently opened restaurant, Baoti, specialises in baos, dim sums, matcha flavoured desserts, sweet mochis, and more, all made with 80% of local and organic ingredients! For the moment, the menu is only available as take-away.
A CREATOR OF BAOS

Chinese Chef Tengyifang is an artist and doesn’t consider herself a cook, but more as a creator of baos. Baos are a very important part of China’s food culture and Tengyifang grew up with them. The years of family traditions inspired her to make her own creative versions of handmade baos. Her creativity doesn’t stop there, as aside from creating her own recipes, Tengyifang also created the cool restaurant logo herself!
THE MENU

The menu is made with 80% local and organic ingredients and some of the ingredients even come from their own family’s garden! Baoti aims for zero waste and has cleverly teamed up with the local store next door, from whom they take their unsold vegetables to use in the kitchen.
We were delivered a selection of deliciously stuffed baos. There are baos with different meat fillings, like beef and onion, but there are also vegetarian and vegan baos. The vegan baos are filled with seasonal vegetables. There are also different delicious salads on the menu. We loved the crunchy cucumber salad, the wakame seaweed salad, and the ‘Very Chinese Salad’ of carrots, celery and peanuts cooked in tea.
PANDA-SHAPED COOKIES
For dessert we absolutely loved the very surprising homemade Matcha flavored cheesecake, the sesame Mochis and the pastries filled with black sesame. We had a delicious Matcha latte to go with our menu. If you are ordering as a family, then do also check out their cute looking Panda-shaped cookies they have for the kids!
