A ROUND-UP OF GENEVA’S OPEN AIR CINEMAS – SUMMER 2021
During the summer months in Geneva, a handful of large outdoor cinema screens are set up on the shores of Lake Geneva and in our city’s lovely parks. Films start late, waiting for the sun to go down, and a wide range of films are screened in many languages. There are classics, new releases, theme nights and arthouse films to choose from. Ciné du Lac is a more formal experience with tiered seating and a bar and restaurant. At other open air cinemas, you can bring your own chairs or picnic blankets, and get cosy under the stars. Here’s our round-up of what’s on offer (albeit slightly more limited this year, pandemic oblige):
CINEMA UNDER THE STARS
It’s back this year! Head over to this lakeside outdoor cinema on rive gauche for a packed programme: 55 film screenings await!

CINÉ TRANSAT – IN SECRET SPOTS THIS SUMMER!
Usually located in Parc de la Perle du Lac on rive droite, this unique outdoor cinema experience is back – and will be held in secret spots around the canton of Geneva this summer! You’ll gather at a meeting point and a guide will take you to the secret spot – you won’t know where you’re going until you get there!
Check out the wide variety of films on offer – many are in English, and or have English subtitles.

THE LOCAL OPTION – PLAN LES OUATES
Free of charge (but you’ll need a ticket), four films will be screened over the summer in the commune of Plan-les-Ouates:

12 August 2021, 9:30pm: OSS 117 : Le Caire nid d’espions
27 August 2021, 9:30pm: Jurassic Park.

THE COSY OPTION – VERNIER
The commune of Vernier are showing four open air films this summer: on 9 July, and on 13, 14, and 20 August 2021. The July film screening will be held at Parc Chauvet-Lullin, while the August screenings will take place at Parc de Balexert.
