Cocktails and clubbing – in your own living room
Chat Noir, Geneva

Bring a fun club into your living room with Carouge’s iconic Chat Noir. Order your favourite bar eats and homemade cocktails, and set the mood with the club’s own DJ playlists.
WE TEST “ON THE ROAD WITH CHAT NOIR” – A GREAT NIGHT OUT (IN)
Your Thursday, Friday and Saturday party nights are back. Almost.
Chat Noir offers you a club night in your living room with cocktails, bar eats and music – called On the Road – we had to try it, of course! “On the Road” can be ordered via Smood or by calling Chat Noir directly.
With your Smood order comes a QR code that takes you straight to the club. You’ll find 5 playlists made exclusively for Chat Noir “On the Road” by the club’s emblematic resident DJs (pre-corona, anyway). Choose from afrobeat, urban moods, world & soul, and reggae vibes. Mix it up with a playlist or two for dinner and another for cocktails and dessert.
My Spanish husband has won me over on the idea of sharing tapas, so I love when restaurants offer small bites. We ordered a variety of dishes to share but decided on a burger each as well – which was enough food for lunch the next day, too!
We loved the tagine lamb rolls, which came with a slow-cooked gravy for dipping (a 24-hour-long process!), as well as the crispy chicken skewers with a curry sauce. For our mains we had their smoky Swiss beef burger on a bun sourced from a bakery in Carouge. For toppings, you get bacon, cheddar and smoked onions, as well as a side salad and thick-cut fries (ask about their 100% homemade vegan option, too).
DELICIOUS HOMEMADE COCKTAILS
If you’re sitting on the couch with a cool cocktail in hand – use your imagination and it’s almost like sipping a cocktail in a club. Choose the right playlist and you’re almost there. Chat Noir “On the Road” wants to bring the party to your own home, despite COVID.
Not only do we love the great cocktails but they also came in cute glass bottles labelled with the name of the drink– as well as a clever idea for recycling the bottles! Chat Noir even sent ice cubes and dried fruits to decorate our drinks.
I order the Porn Star (the name always makes me blush but it’s just so good. Try it!) with vanilla vodka, passion fruit, vanilla liqueur, passion fruit liqueur, and vanilla syrup. I was a little worried it might taste too much of vanilla but it was a perfect blend. My husband tried the East Side, which we both loved – Tanqueray gin, lime juice, sugar, fresh mint, and cucumber juice. Refreshing.
We shared a caramel-chocolate-peanut tart which tastes like Snickers, but better.
Chat Noir “On The Road” was one of the best date nights we’ve had in a long time! We had a great time discovering new music (and breaking out of the Spotify rut), relaxing with yummy cocktails and enjoying a night off from cooking. Almost as good as a night out on the town!
We also appreciate how they minimized plastic in their takeout meals, using wooden utensils and reusable glass bottles.
The best thing about it? You can try your coolest dance moves without fear of humiliation and you don’t have to worry about getting home after the party!
Chat Noir Club “On The Road” has partnered with Smood for this new experience.
