ON 28 MARCH at 18:00, ESCA CancerSupport is hosting a 4 km March starting from its premises on Route des Morillons 1 Le Grand-Saconnex, to Geneva’s lakeside (rotunda on the Quai du Mont-Blanc). The March aims to raise awareness for this wonderful organisation and to see the Jet d’Eau light up in blue and green, the official colours of ESCA CancerSupport.
This March of solidarity brings together all the ESCA CancerSupport stakeholders: cancer patients, cancer survivors, counsellors, volunteers, family, friends, caregivers, the medical and international community, donors and supporters. Together, they will march to promote ESCA CancerSupport’s free services which are available to anyone affected by cancer in the Geneva area.
According to data collected by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) 56,000 new cases of cancer were diagnosed in Switzerland in 2018, adding to the over 200,000 cases diagnosed in the past five years. In Geneva, over 4,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year. ESCA CancerSupport was created to offer emotional support, practical help and information, in English, to those facing cancer, as well as their families and caretakers.
“I have been fighting cancer for more than 8 years. I recently joined ESCA and now it is clear to me that I will never be alone again in my battle against cancer. Together we are invincible!” – Jacqueline
