5 THINGS TO EAT AT THE GENEVA STREET FOOD FESTIVAL
#genevastreetfoodfestival
by Chené Koscielny
Our mouths are watering just thinking of all the different exotic types of food to try at the Geneva Street Food Festival, which takes place again from August, Friday 31st till Sunday, 2nd of September.
Promenade de Saint-Antoine in the old town will come alive with the sounds and smells emanating from around 100 food trucks and stands. There will also be local products on sale, wine tastings, DJs and live musicians and for the first time – a kid’s corner with workshops for the little ones.
We’ve done a bit of research in anticipation and here is our selection of 5 things you MUST eat at the Geneva Street Food Festival this time!
GO HUNGRY…
And Don’t be selfish: SHARE your food pics on Instagram and tag us @thingstodoingeneva
MANGO STICKY RICE FROM SOÏ
I’ve eaten street food in Bangkok during the summer and let me assure you the food from Soï in Geneva could have come straight off the streets of Bangkok.
They’ll be doing 4 of their favourite recipes at the festival – top secret, but one of the will be their mango sticky rice – TO DIE FOR!
TAKOYAKI FROM TAKOYAKIGO!
So, we haven’t actually tried this, but it’s definitely on our list: Japanese ball-shaped snack made from wheat flour filled with minced octopus from TakoyakiGo!
POULPE (OCTOPUS) SANDWICH FROM POLP
Staying with the Octopus theme – we LOVED the taste of this fresh octopus sandwich when we tasted one recently – fresh bread, fresh Octopus, loads of flavour. It’s soooo much better than you think.
VEGAN BURGER FROM ALIVE
If it’s vegan you’re after, try this yummy looking burger from vegan food café Alive.
SMOKED BBQ RIBS FROM FUNKY BBQ
Meat, glorious meat… if this is you – make a beeline for funkybbq and order a stack of finger licking good ribs.
