From Friday, 27th November, until the 3rd of January the city of Geneva will be sprinkling some Christmas cheer with flickering lights, shining stars, shimmering baubles and glittering garlands in 22 different spots across the city – including squares, trees and fountains, as well as in some neighbourhoods such as Jonction and Saint-Jean.
The lights, which amount to a CHF200,000 investment, is aimed at ‘bringing a bit of lightness to the very heavy current atmosphere, as well as to help to make the city centre more attractive during these times,” said a press spokesman for the city of Geneva.
The lights have been entirely replaced with energy-efficient lighting and include many surprising new additions. Check out the Boulevard Carl-Vogt and rue des Deux Ponts crossing, Place de la Fusterie, the big Christmas tree on Place du Molard and light installations on Li’lle Roussseau.

Is there a map of these 22 spots? I can’t find anywhere online…
Good question- we can’t find one either!
