Sleepover party – WHAT? Are you crazy?!? This is usually my first response to such a request by one of my children. The stress, the cleaning up, the tears, the tantrums… I’d need a lot of wine before I’d be persuaded to host a sleepover party for my girls, who are 6 and 10 years old.
HANDCRAFTED TIPIS
Enter Soirée Pyjama! This new company offers sleep over parties for children. They bring beautifully handcrafted tipis to your house and then constructs them for you. My girls LOVED this idea and I thought I’d give it a try.
You can choose between 2’s company, 3’s a crowd or a slumber party for 5 children. Ages: Up to about 11 years.Of course, we had to be difficult and wanted 4 tipis, which luckily was no problem at all for the organisers!
CHOOSE YOUR MATERIAL
The children can choose the material they want for the tipi and the fabric is so gorgeous, it becomes difficult to pick one. My children selected the ladybirds, rainbows, liberty pink and the ‘etoiles’ fabric. However they then proceeded to fight over them as they look even better once the tipis were constructed.
Each tipi comes with a good quality mattress, pillow, linen, wooden box and fairy lights. My girls had fun fulfilling up the wooden boxes with treasures. The fairy lights and pretty bunting created a very festive atmosphere. You also get a LED box displaying the name of the birthday girl (or boy)
EARLY BEDTIME
My girls were so excited to get into bed, they even went early however not to sleep. They had fun playing in the bed and then settled down to tell stories. We still had a few tears and tantrums, but hey, this was a very manageable sleepover and I even got to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine.
THE BEST PART
The best part, the linen is taken away and I did not have to do the washing.
THE PRICE
Prices range from CHF180 to CHF370.
OUR VERDICT
Would I do this again? Definitely! The kids answer: without a doubt! Now, if the party could also come with an entertainer, party food and gift bags, we would be even happier!
