SON ET LUMIÈRE
Parc des Bastions
by Caro Blackwell from Taste of Savoie
Immerse yourself in the amazing ‘Son et Lumiere’ at Parc des Bastions in Geneva. Don’t miss this spectacular light and sound show – which for some reason doesn’t appear to be that well promoted, but is well worth attending. The theme is Gravity this year.
WHAT IS THE SON ET LUMIÈRE SHOW?
This 15-minute sound and light show is a mesmerising spectacle cleverly choreographed using incredible digitised images and sound, charting the progress of science in an easily digestible format for both children and adults. The diverse and colourful scenes are projected onto the beautiful backdrop of the University of Geneva building in the Parc des Bastions with spectacular results. The scenes seamlessly blend into each other using great effects; highlighting renowned scientists of our time, achievements in history and interesting events.
Listen to the story and watch the drama of Gravity unfolding before your eyes.
This parc is a very popular place for the local Genevois to enjoy leisure time and play chess on the giant outdoor chess boards. The elegant glass art deco style Café Restaurant du Parc des Bastions is a good place to enjoy an apéro before the Sound and Light show.
