Unfortunately, COVID continues to disturb our lives and disrupt our travel plans, but fortunately, there’s no shortage of fun, exciting activities to entertain the kiddos!
We were very excited to find out many of our favorite camps still offer a variety of exciting options during the October school holidays! Along with a few other family activities worth mentioning.

CAMPZONE – l’Institut International de Lancy (IIL)
Looking for fun activities for your child this October holiday? Have a look at the IIL Campzone’s wide selection of camps for ages 3 to 12. We have indoor climbing, football, magic, urban dance, coding, Bricks 4 Kidz, Arts, and much more.
Campzone offers a great variety of exciting activities for all ages and personalities! All courses are in English and French! Group sizes are small, guaranteeing individual attention for all kids. This is a great plus – compared to some of the bigger camps out there.

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN CELEBRATIONS! – Gymboree
This year Gymboree will be doing a bilingual Halloween-themed October camp. There will be themed activities and art projects, music and songs, play and movement downstairs, tactile time, imaginary play, storytime, and more! Also, the kids will be able to play outdoors, in the afternoon. Children will be given the chance to dress up on Friday.
Cold, healthy lunch will be provided for children participating in the full-day camp.
NOTE: There will not be nap time in the afternoon.

OTHER FAMILY-FRIENDLY THINGS TO DO – OCTOBER 2020
ART AND HISTORY MUSEUM – FREE Holiday Camps
For its 8th year, the museum will be offering FREE daily camps for children during the October school vacation. This year the theme is Circus! Balance, strength, acrobatics and magic.
Children will have the chance to discover all the exciting elements of the museum such as testing your flexibility in the face of frozen, but moving statues or to witness an Egyptian magic trick.
The activities will include visits, shows, workshops, and stories, guaranteeing four days of full magic and wonder!

FAR EASTERN ART MUSEUM – Family activities
The museum offers a variety of guided tours, workshops, tea tasting, tales, and concerts. All activities involve all five senses with the intention to discover the Far Eastern cultures.
There are a variety of exciting ateliers to part take in at the museum but there is one called Éventail gentils monstres d’Asie which is specifically geared to families.
Éventail gentils monstres d’Asie workshop allows children to explore the imaginary creatures from China and Japan. both places offer loads of creatures such as dragons, shishi lions, and mermaids!

THE ENCHANTED FOREST – Black Movie
The mystical, enchanted forest is the theme of the month of October at the Black Movie children’s version. Find out what happens to the hedgehog who unfortunately finds himself lost in the fog, the tourist giraffe who faces the rejection of the natives, and a greedy girl who must face a frightening giant. Watch them overcome their fears and prejudices to emerge from the forest-grown up.
