By Victoria Thierrée Chaplin
Performance without words
Plunged into a phantasmagorical universe, Aurélia Thierrée and Jaime Martinez perform in a magical world filled with poetry. Drawn to the objects around her, Aurélia cannot resist “borrowing” them and, at her touch, they revolt and take on a life of their own. In this universe in perpetual motion, walls open and close, a coat rack walks, doors spin and characters change appearance as if by magic. These two artists offer us a ballet of infinite tenderness, a spectacle full of charm and impertinence that touches the child within. We emerge hypnotised and enthralled.
From Tuesday 21st April to Sunday 10th May
Performance at 19:30 hours – Sundays at 17:00 hours
La Cuisine, main stage auditorium
Age 10 and over.

The exhibition is dedicated to the works of the most prolific member of the “Boissonnas dynasty”, Fred Boissonnas (1858 – 1946). It sheds light on a whole aspect of his career that is both underappreciated and crucial: his journeys on the Mediterranean Sea, which he spent the first three decades of the 20th century roaming in search of light, of the Great Greece and free Egypt, of Homeric settings and Biblical landscapes.
Most of his photographs, presented here for the first time, are part of bequeathed collections now owned by the Bibliothèque de Genève. Both poetic and mesmerising, this exhibition also attempts to provide insight into the ambivalent and passionate relationship between Europe and the Mediterranean.
