On Sunday 15th December, more than 2,400 courageous people will face the icy cold waters of the lake during the traditional Christmas Cup.
A popular race since 1934, this is a must-attend event to see one of the world’s largest cold water races where participants must swim 120 metres along the Jardin Anglais promenade in water temperatures ranging from 2 to 8 degrees.
Come and cheer them on at Jardin Anglais in a festive end-of-year atmosphere.

Put on your trainers, gloves and woolly hats for The 5th Antigel Run – Geneva’s first race of the year, and just one week before the Festival officially opens!
The atmosphere is fun yet competitive, the route is beautiful and the view over the lake and the beach at Eaux-Vives is breath-taking. It’s a great opportunity to gather together, across all ages, whether you’re an amateur or a trained sportsperson, you can choose your route: 1, 2, 5 or 10 km. And as always with Antigel, this sports day ends with a party, the Light Run, a magical event lit up with thousands of lanterns, head lamps and fairy lights worn by the participants.

The exhibition is dedicated to the works of the most prolific member of the “Boissonnas dynasty”, Fred Boissonnas (1858 – 1946). It sheds light on a whole aspect of his career that is both underappreciated and crucial: his journeys on the Mediterranean Sea, which he spent the first three decades of the 20th century roaming in search of light, of the Great Greece and free Egypt, of Homeric settings and Biblical landscapes.
Most of his photographs, presented here for the first time, are part of bequeathed collections now owned by the Bibliothèque de Genève. Both poetic and mesmerising, this exhibition also attempts to provide insight into the ambivalent and passionate relationship between Europe and the Mediterranean.

The 16th edition of the Harmony Geneva Marathon for Unicef takes place on 9th & 10th May 2020. In 2019, more than 138 global destinations signed up for one of the eight events and discovered the course in the countryside nestled between mountains and the shore of Lake Geneva before finishing in the heart of the city in front of the famous Jet d’Eau.
With eight races on the programme and distances ranging from 1km to a full marathon, you will find a distance that suits you to be part of this festival of running.
The Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half-Marathon and Wheelchair race will be held on Sunday 10th May. Runners will stream through the countryside, following a route renowned for its beauty, nestled between the shores of lake Geneva and snow-capped peaks of the Alps and Jura mountains. The closing stretch takes participants through the heart of Geneva before crossing the finish line on the Pont du Mont-Blanc, with a stunning view of the famous Jet d’Eau in the distance.
On Saturday 9th May, a number of other race formats will be available for both juniors and adults. These include the 10km open to runners and walkers, La Genevoise #LikeAGirl by Always 6km race for women and the Junior Races.
